Abstract

This document lists the hardware and software requirements for WebSphere ILOG JRules BRMS V7.1 on the Windows platform.

This page describes the minimum product levels that must be installed before opening a problem report with the WebSphere ILOG JRules support team. Because other products frequently ship fixes, updates, and new releases, testing every configuration is not possible. In general, you can install and run with minor updates to supported products if those updates are forward compatible.

Supporting software (for example LDAP servers) can run, but does not need to run, on the same computer or operating system where the product runs. For additional information:


This document identifies supporting software that runs on the Windows operating system on x86 platform. This table applies to WebSphere ILOG Decision Validation Services, JRules (including both the Rule Execution Server and Rule Studio modules) and Rule Team Server.

Operating Systems
For 32-bit Windows
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2003 (Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter Edition) SP1, SP2, R2
  • Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter Edition) SP1, SP2

  • Intel Pentium at 3 GHz for single core system, 2.4 GHz for dual cores or faster
  • Intel EM64T or AMD Opteron (32-bit kernel support only)
  • Minimum 1 GB physical memory; 2 GB recommended
  • DVD/CD-ROM drive

For 64-bit Windows
  • AMD Opteron or Intel EM64T (64 bit kernel support)
  • Minimum 1 GB physical memory; 2 GB recommended
  • DVD/CD-ROM drive
Application Server
  • IBM WebSphere Application Server 6.1.0.21, 7.0 and future fix packs

  • RAD 7.5.3, RSA 7.5.3, WID 6.2, 7.0, WebSphere Business Modeler 6.2, 7.0 and future fix packs (Supported for Rule Studio)
  • Microsoft Office 2003 SP3 or 2007 SP1 is required for defining Excel test scenarios when using Decision Validation Services. Only Excel 2003 format is supported.
Web Browsers
  • Firefox 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, 3.6 and future fix packs
  • Internet Explorer 6.0, 7.0, 8.0 and future fix packs

Note: A modification release is a fix that delivers new functionality for a particular version and release. A fix pack is a cumulative collection of all fixes available up to that point for the base release. A fix pack can include fixes that have not been previously released and can span multiple products or components. A fix pack can be applied on top of any previously shipped maintenance to bring the system up to the current fix pack level.
