APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The client was supplied a patch for WTX00028322 to correct the
parsing of Big5 (Traditional Chinese) strings. WTX failed to
recognize line boundaries (CR/LF) and returns incorrect data
    lengths.

The client now indicates that there are still some Chinese
characters that are garbled after the transformation by WTX.

Local fix

  • WTX00028939

Problem summary

  • The Chinese character encoding, Big5, is now correctly
    recognized by the OLEDB adapter.

Problem conclusion

  • The character set is bound as a binary character encoding before
being inserted or extracted from the database.

Temporary fix
