Error description

  • The problem is reported by IMS Tools Development when an ESATE
exit routine is in use and calls DSPURXRT to issue DBRC command.
    .
A system error occurs after returning from DSPURXRT, the
recovery routine 'ESTAERTN' is not called. The SCB for ESTAERTN
is removed from the SCB chain in the 'AFTER' dump file.
It has been deleted incorrectly by 'ESTAE (0)' during DSPURXRT.

Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All IMS V11 DBRC users of DSPURXRT that *
    * set their own ESTAE prior to calling DBRC *
    *                 may be affected.                             *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: After the termination of DBRC that *
    * was evoked through DSPURXRT, the user *
    * defined ESTAE routine is canceled. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF *
    ****************************************************************
The user sets up an ESTAE (ESTAERNT) and then loads DSPURXRT.
They then call DSPURXRT to do some DBRC function. When this
terminates ESTAERNT has also been canceled.

Problem conclusion

  • AIDS: RIDS/DBRC RIDS/SER DBRC SER
     GEN:
    KEYWORDS:

    *** END IMS KEYWORDS ***
DSPURXEP has been changed to resolve this problem. The cancel
of DBRC's ESTAE had been moved to DSPUTM00 so that it would be
done during every termination call. There was still an ESTAE(0)
in DSPURXEP which was executed during DSPURXRT process
termination. So DSPUTM00 canceled DBRC's ESTAE and DSPURXEP
canceled the next highest ESTAE which was the users. The
ESTAE(0) has been removed from DSPURXEP.
