Error description

  • The index.html for the IBM HTTP Server version 6.1 has a
    reference to odot.jpg instead of odot.gif.
    The HTTP Server htdocs/en_US/images/ directory only contains
    images with the .gif extention.

    The customer will receive the following error in the error.log

    [error] [client 1.2.3.4] File does not exist:
    C:/webserver_install_root/htdocs/en_US/images/odot.jpg, referer:
    http://webserver_hostname

    The index.html references to odot.jpg should instead refer
    to odot.gif. The error message would not occur in this case.

Local fix

  • Edit the index.html file in
    webserver_install_root/htdocs/en_US/
    and change all references to odot.jpg to odot.gif.

    <td><img src="images/odot.jpg" width="46" height="1"></td>
    <td><img src="images/odot.jpg" width="49" height="1"></td>

    Save the file and restart the web server.

    * messages in the error.log.                                   *
