Error description

• In DB2 Administration Tool, when using JCL and SYSREC is
  altered manually with a new dataset name to adhere to company
  specific naming standards for huge unloads, LOAD fails
  with a dataset allocation error, even if a new dataset is
  specified in SYSREC.

  Customer requests method to override TEMPLATE generated DSN
  for UNLOAD / LOAD operations associated with drop / create
  scenarios that are typical of ALC scenarios.

  *                 the Unload data set name in Alter JCL when   *
  *                 using templates.                             *

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: If  a user  has  specified   "Generate  *
  *                      template  statements : Yes"   on panel  *
  *                      ADB27A  and the  ALT template ALULD is  *
  *                      toggled on,   and  the  user  attempts  *
  *                      to  modify the UNLOAD  SYSREC template  *
  *                      data  set  name,   the  original  data  *
  *                      set  name  is still  used in  the LOAD  *
  *                      template  in  the CNC file.   This can  *
  *                      result in  a LOAD failure with message  *
  *                      IKJ56228I DATA SET . . . . . .  NOT IN  *
  *                      CATALOG OR CATALOG CAN NOT BE ACCESSED. *

  *                      PK62265  implemented the  ability to    *
  *                      change  the  Unload  data  set  name    *
  *                      (ULD/ULC)   in  the  "run WSL"  JCL,    *
  *                      previously possible only  by editing    *
  *                      the IFF file:  instead of picking up    *
  *                      the  load data set name from the IFF    *
  *                      file,  ADB27AC now reads the name of    *
  *                      the data set from the new  ULC= part    *
  *                      of the ADBINnnn DD input card images    *
  *                      which are constructed when running a    *
  *                      work statement list: "TC=...,TN=...,    *
  *                      TCN=...., TNN=...., ULC=...".   This    *
  *                      capability   was  not  available  to    *
  *                      users  processing an Alter via batch    *
  *                      JCL.                                    *

  EXEC ADB27A  is modified to  produce  "TC=..., TN=..., TCN=...,
  TNN=..., ULC=..."  card images which  skeleton ADB27ACM inserts
  into a new SYSIN DD in the convert step (CNVRT50)  of Alter JCL
  if a user has specified "Generate template statements : Yes" on
  panel ADB27A.
  

Problem conclusion

• The new capability is implemented.
