Comments
The following modifications can effect to improve the performance of change and reload functions for many areas by increasing the number of thread subtasks with OCACHE=YES. 1. Reduce data space storage utilization when change or reload function with OCACHE=YES is run. The current change and reload functions with OCACHE=YES obtain data space storage with total size of IOVF part and SDEP part. Therefore, a large number of thread subtasks with OCACHE=YES cannot be run concurrently because of resource shortage. In this APAR, change and reload functions with OCACHE=YES are modified to obtain data space storage with total size of used CIs in IOVF part. In addition, change and reload functions are modified not to obtain data space storage for SDEP part when one of the following conditions is met: - Reload function handles the Unloaded Segment records data set created by Unload function with SDEP=NO - Change function with SDEP=NO 2. Eliminate redundancy paging services. 3. Eliminate redundancy initialization of the internal buffer. Because the CI allocation algorithm for IOVF part is changed, the distribution of used CIs in IOVF part can different between before and after applying this APAR. ×**** PE09/01/29 PTF IN ERROR.
