    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: QWACTRTT_zIIP could report too little *
    * zIIP CPU for triggers that are invoked *
    * on a distributed SRB and the trigger *
    *                      invokes another nested activity (i.e.,  *
    * stored procedure, UDF, or another *
    * trigger). If the trigger invokes *
    * another trigger, the trigger package *
    *                      zIIP time QPACCLS7_zIIP may             *
    *                      be too large.                           *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The begin zIIP time was not reset when a nested activity
    ended and was returning control to a trigger executing on
    a main application execution unit.

Problem conclusion

  • When control is returned to a trigger executing on the main
    application execution unit from another nested activity, the
    current zIIP time will be clocked and stored as the new begin
    time for the trigger activity. This will ensure the trigger
    package zIIP time QPACCLS7_zIIP and the plan level trigger
    time QWACTRTT_zIIP will be accurate.
