APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • The DB2 Administration Tool includes an ADBDIAG DD statement
in the JCL it builds ( skeletons ADB2WL4 and ADB2CID ).
The ADBDIAG DD statement is an internal debug aid which should
be used only under the direction of IBM Software Support.

Local fix

  • Remove the DD name manually.

Problem summary

* USERS AFFECTED: Users of DB2 Administration Tool that use    *
*                 the Batch Restart program,  ADBTEP2, with    *
*                 large Work Statement Lists.                  *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: DD name ADBDIAG, a log file containing  *
*                      diagnostic  information,  runs out  of  *
*                      space when  the size of the WSL being   *
*                      processed is very large.                *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *

The size necessary  to contain all  diagnostic messages is not
predictable. A new option is added to panel ADB2UPA "Batch Job
Utility  Parameters"  to allow the user to disable  diagnostic
messages.

Problem conclusion
