Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
* USERS AFFECTED: DB2 Admin  Tool users  who run  RUNSTATS     *
*                 utility  on tablespaces or  indexes with     *
*                 Data Partitioned Secondary Index (DBSI).     *
****************************************************************
* PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When RUNSTATS  utility is run against a *
*                      tablespace or index with DPSI, the step *
*                      fails.                                  *
****************************************************************
* RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *
****************************************************************
RUNSTATS  on a tablespace or  index with Data Partitioned
Secondary  Index requires a STPRINxx DD statement,  which
was absent in DB2 Admin Tool and OC generated JCL and WSL.

Problem conclusion

  • Code changed such that a STPRIN01 dataset is allocated as DUMMY
or, if DEBUG is on, SYSOUT=*.
