Abstract

This document describes how to download and install the B2B Advanced Communications components using the Fix Central web site.

B2B Advanced Communications provides dynamic functions that integrate with and complement the existing IBM Sterling B2B Integrator product to optimize data exchanges with your partners. B2B Advanced Communications gives you visibility into end-to-end data, flexible messaging solutions, robust security controls and data security, and flexible options for deployment, configuration, and customization (including user exit capabilities).

The typical installation process for B2B Advanced Communications is described as follows:


  • Prior to installing this product, plan the topology of the system architecture and other key areas, such as high availability and database configuration. For more information, see the Planning section of the product documentation.
  • Review the critical product concepts. B2B Advanced Communications includes a new technology stack that separates communication and protocol support from core message processing. Understanding this and other concepts prior to installation facilitates your installation and implementation of the software. For more information, see the Overview > Concepts section of the product documentation.
  • Install the software. For more information, see the Installing and Upgrading sections of the product documentation.
  • Review the Getting started section of the product documentation to ensure you understand how to optimally configure the features within B2B Advanced Communications. Included in this section is a post-installation configuration checklist that steps through the key areas you must configure before you can start sending and receiving transactions.
  • Configure the software. For more information, see the Configuring section of the product documentation.

Download Package

Follow these steps to download B2B Advanced Communications version 1.0.0.6:

  1. Download the fix pack (filename: IBM_B2B_Advanced_Communications_V1.0.0.6_Media.zip) from Fix Central.
  2. Install the fix pack on each node in your environment. Remember that applying this fix pack will require a node outage. IBM recommends that you first apply the fix pack to your test environment and run regression tests before you apply the fix pack to production.
