This download document provides a step-by-step starting guide to download and install IBM Banking and Financial Markets Data Warehouse (BFMDW) version 8.6.

The goal of this document is to provide you with a comprehensive step-by-step starting guide in order for you to download, install and quickly access the BFMDW models and related documentation.

Choosing a Tooling Deployment option

There are two Industry Models tooling deployment options available for the BFMDW models:
  • BFMDW for InfoSphere
  • BFMDW for m1
Each tooling deployment option has its own set of pre-requisites, models and documentation. Click on one of the tab below to access the relevant information:

1. Getting the pre-requisite software

Deploying the BFMDW models using the BFMDW for m1 tooling deployment option gives you the option to use one of the following software:

  • IBM InfoSphere Data Architect (IDA)
  • CA ERwin

2. Download Instructions

The latest 8.6.0.0 release is available for download from theIBM Passport Advantage website.

3. Installation Instructions


To Install:
- Extract all the files from the Download Package.
- Navigate to the Disk1 folder.
- Double click on setup.exe.
- Follow the instructions in the installation wizards (When prompted to install the IDA tools, please check the option if you are planning to use the m1-IDA bridge)


Or for Accessibility support, to Install using the installer with screen reader software:
- Extract all the files from the Download Package.
- Install the Java Access Bridge and enable it for using screen reader software.
- Ensure Java is executable from all paths.
- Navigate to the "Disk1\InstData\NoVM" folder.
- Double click on Install.exe.
- Follow the instructions in the installation wizards (When prompted to install the IDA tools, please check the option if you are planning to use the m1-IDA bridge)

4. Getting the Documentation

The Documentation is available from the BFMDW for m1 Information Center installed as part of the BFMDW installation on your local machine. You can access it from the following Windows Start Menu shortcut:
Start --> All Programs --> IBM --> Industry Models --> Banking and Financial Markets Data Warehouse --> v8.6.0.0 --> BFMDW for m1 --> BFMDW m1 Information Center.

6. Utilities / Plugins

The Industry Models Lab has developed an utility that can assist you migrated from the BFMDW for m1 tooling deployment option to the BFMDW for InfoSphere tooling deployment option.

7. Opening a PMR and information to provide to Support

To get support, please open a Service Request (PMR) using the IBM Service Request (SR) tool.
If you haven't used the SR tool before, please register by following the instructions from the IBM Service Request Quick Start

If your query is related to BFMDW, please choose IBM Banking and Financial Markets Data Warehouse as a product. If your query is related to the IDA or IBG tool, please select the appropriate product from the list.
