Abstract

This document describes how to download IBM® System Storage™ Archive Manager Version 7.1.2 AIX®, Linux®, and UNIX® servers by using the Passport Advantage® Online website.

Download Description

System Storage Archive Manager provides a client and server policy-based managed storage system to help meet regulatory and archive requirements for data retention and expiration. Archive and retrieval of retention managed data is through a System Storage Archive Manager client or the API client.

IBM System Storage Archive Manager Version 7.1.2 is made up of the following components and code levels:

    • Backup-archive client at V7.1.2
    • Application programming interface (API) at V7.1.2
    • Server at V7.1.1.100
    • Operations Center, Tivoli Monitoring for Tivoli Storage Manager, and device driver components, V7.1.1

This document describes how to download System Storage Archive Manager Version 7.1.2 installation images for AIX®, Linux®, and UNIX® servers by using the Passport Advantage Online website.

The initial view of this document provides the details that are associated System Storage Archive Manager on AIX, UNIX, and Linux operating systems. Information for the Windows server and the client are accessed via tabbed sections that are defined later in this document.

Space requirements for AIX

  • 1725 MB of disk space to store the downloadable part.
  • 5120 MB of disk space to unpack the part.
  • 5120 MB of disk space for the installed product: 2048 MB in the installation directory, 32 MB in /var, and 2048 MB in /tmp.

Space requirements for HP-UX Itanium®

  • 2062 MB of disk space to store the downloadable part.
  • 6144 MB of disk space to unpack the part.
  • 5120 MB of disk space for the installed product: 2048 MB in the installation directory, 32 MB in /var, and 2048 MB in /tmp.

Space requirements for Linux

  • x86_64
    • 1928 MB of disk space to store the downloadable part.
    • 4096 MB of disk space to unpack the part.
    • 5120 MB of disk space for the installed product: 2048 MB in the installation directory, 32 MB in /var, and 2048 MB in /tmp.

    • 1680 MB of disk space to store the downloadable part.

  • 1372 MB of disk space to store the downloadable part.
  • 4096 MB of disk space to unpack the part.
  • 5120 MB of disk space for the installed product: 2048 MB in the installation directory, 32 MB in /var, and 2048 MB in /tmp.

Downloading and assembling the product

    1. Download the part that you need. The parts are described by platform in the tabbed sections of this document.
    2. Unpack each downloaded part into a single temporary directory on your system.
    3. Follow the instructions in the IBM Tivoli Storage Manager Installation Guide to install the product.
