Error description

  • ITKB command processor needs ability to process commands in
    sequence submitted. Also needs the ability to wait for the
    complete set of commands be executed successfully before
    returning a RC=0 within an ITKB Batch job.
    When STO and STA command are issued via batch, the STA command
    starts before the end of the STO. STOP and START commands
    request an asynchronous process to be initiated. When the
    START is attempted before the asynchronous process is requested
    by the STOP, the request completes and the START is likely to
    fail.

    This is based off of ITKB V110 FITS REQ MR0226106746.
    This is a forward fit of ITKB V110 APAR PM14285.

    * USERS AFFECTED: All users utilizing the FPQBATCH repository *
    * STOP and START commands. *
    ****************************************************************
    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A new parameter, MAXWAIT, is added to *
    * the FPQBATCH repository STOP and START *
    * commands. When specified this *
    * parameter controls the maximum amount *
    * of time to wait for the completion of *
    * the command and what return code to set *
    * if the command does not complete in the *
    * specified amount of time. The default *
    *                      is MAXWAIT(5,IGNORE)                    *
    * it will wait up to five seconds for *
    * completion and will not modify the *
    * condition code. Previously there was *
    * no wait for the completion of the *
    * command. JCL examples are updated to *
    * include specification of this *
    *                      parameter.                              *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The MAXWAIT parameter is added to the STOP and START commands
    allowing the job step to wait for completion so that the data
    sets can be processed in a subsequent step.
