Problem summary

  • ****************************************************************
    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of DRF who perform point in time *
    * or timestamp recoveries against a HALDB *
    *                 master or partition.                         *

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When performing a timestamp recovery *
    * (TSR) or a point in time recovery *
    * (PITR) recovery of a HALDB partition, *
    * the associated ILE and primary index *
    * must also be rebuilt or the database *
    *                      is unusable.  If the HALDB(BOTH)        *
    * keyword is not specified then this *
    * does not happen and the resulting *
    * partition may be unusable. *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF *
    ****************************************************************
    When performing a timestamp recovery (TSR) or a point in time
    recovery (PITR) recovery of a HALDB partition, the associated
    ILE and primary index must also be rebuilt or the database is
    unusable. If the HALDB(BOTH) keyword is not specified then
    this does not happen and the resulting partition may be
    unusable.

Problem conclusion

  • GEN:
    KEYWORDS:

    *** END IMS KEYWORDS ***
    DRF has been modified so that any time a TSR or PITR recovery
    is performed for a HALDB master or partition, the HALDB(BOTH)
    keyword is enforced. This will ensure that the ILE and primary
    index are both rebuilt.
