  • When browsing CICS IA DB2 tables all the "$" characters in the
    program names, transaction names, and resource names appear as
    "." (period).

Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: All CICS IA Version 3.1 users.               *

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When browsing the CICS IA DB2 tables,   *
    *                      some special characters in the          *
    *                      resources (program names,               *
    *                      transaction names etc.) appear as "."   *
    *                      (a period).                             *
    *                      These special characters are displayed  *
    *                      as "." in the Explorer views.           *

    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
    The CICS IA load programs replace unprintable characters
    with ".". Some special characters are not translated correctly.
    

Problem conclusion

  • The translation tables in the CICS IA load programs have been
    changed to translate all regular characters to be used with CICS
    resource names correctly.
