Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of DB2 Object Comparison * * Tool for z/OS who specify schema * * objects along with database, table * * space or table objects during * * compare. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: When database, table space * * table, and schema objects * * are specified, the location must * * match. * * * * Currently, the mismatch is * * identified when generating * * the compare job without * * sufficient information to be * * able to fix the problem. * * * * Current message: * * "target-location mismatch" * * on "Generate Compare Jobs" * * panel GOC5. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF. * **************************************************************** If there is a location mismatch between the schema and other objects, the mismatch is identified sooner rather than later, thus allowing the user to make necessary modifications before exiting the panel that has erroneous entries. Other panels also exercise the same logic, where the user can specify DB2 databases (GOC1D), table spaces (GOC1S), tables (GOC1T) and Schema (GOC1C). In the case of a mismatch, a detailed message will appear. For example (on Schema panel, GOC1C), short message:"location mismatch" long message: "The schema location does not match with the table space location: <table space location>" In addition to the above fix, two new options are added on the compare Main Menu (GOCMENU). The new options are: RS - Reset Source RT - Reset Target This will allow the user to reset only source or target specification. The corresponding help panels are enhanced.
