APAR status

Error description

• The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS GEN panel ADB2GEN allows
  the field "Data set name" to contain a PDS dataset name with a
  PDS member name specified which is different to the PDS dataset
  name and PDS member name specified on panel ADB2WLDA
  'Specify Work Statement List' when 'Add to work stmt list' YES
  is specified.
  
  If the original WSL member is referenced via the E/Edit line
  command on panel ADB2W1 'Work Statement List Library:' an error

Local fix

• Do not specify anything for the 'Data set name' field on
  panel ADB2GEN if 'Add to work stmt list' YES is specified and
  instead add the WSL and member name via panel ADB2WLDA.

  * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Various functions in the WSL panel      *
  *                      expect the members in the list to be    *
  *                      in a particular format.                 *
  *                                                              *
  *                      DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS        *
  *                      tries to process those members          *
  *                      as if they were a WSL list. Various     *
  *                      failures are encountered, including     *
  *                      an ISPF dialog error panel and results  *
  *                      in the termination of the DB2           *
  *                      Administration Tool.                    *

  * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF.                               *

  The Rexx program ADB2W1 is modified to perform
  additional checks of the WSL member before DB2
  Administration Tool for z/OS attempts to process it.
  
  The following messages may be seen by the user.
  
     ISPZ000 Work statement list table member_name
       does not have the right table structure
  
     ISPZ000 TBSTATS on TEST2 failed: Library
          format error : First table record read does
          not have TIR: as identifier. This member
          is not a WSL
  
  When these errors are encountered, the user
  remains on panel ADB2W1, "Work Statement
  List Library", except when the 'E' line command
  is used. In the case of the 'E' line command, the
  selected member is shown using the standard
  ISPF View panel.
  

Problem conclusion

• If the user manually adds a non-WSL member to the
  WSL dataset and selects them from the WSL panel,
  the user will encounter various error conditions.
