PM04467: WSL ADB5405E LOAD SUMMARY REPORT PROCESSING DID NOT COMPLETE SUCCESSFULLY RC08 FOR WSL RESTARTED AFTER LOAD STEP COMPLETED

APAR status

Error description

• The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS "Load Summary Report"
  feature issues a message:
    ADB5405E Load Summary Report processing did not complete
    successfully for WORKLIST(aaaaaaa)
  and ends RC08 when a WSL is restarted after a successful
  ADB5404I Load Summary Report processing completed normally.
  For example, a table is dropped and recreated, the LOAD step
  ends RC00 and then a syntax error occurs in the post-load
  copy step. The initial Load Summary Report confirms that
  the LOAD step was successful however the restarted job shows
    ADB5405E Load Summary Report processing did not complete
    successfully for WORKLIST(aaaaaaaaa)
  and ends RC08.

Problem summary

  When executing a change which involves an  unload-reload
  and the load summary report has been successfully created
  and the message "ADB5404I Load Summary Report processing
  completed normally" appears, if the worklist is restarted after
  the reload, it fails in the report step (//REP EXEC PGM=ADBSR)
  with the message "ADB5405E Load Summary Report processing
  did not complete successfully" even if the restarted worklist
  runs successfully.  This is because the Load Summary Report
  module, ADBSR, cannot find any LOAD messages in SYSPRINT, and
  sets a return code of 8, and therefore issues the ADB5405E
  message.
  

Problem conclusion

• If there are no load utility messages to process because of a
  worklist restart, ADBSR is modified to complete normally with
  the warning message, "ADB5400W No load utility messages were
  found in SYSPRINT upon which to base a Load Summary Report."
