APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When the radio button "No timeout" is selected, then you click
on the "Apply" button, and save the changes, the server.xml
file for the server recorded the -1 value into the field
    invalidationTimeout in server.xml.

After the changes are saved, the administrative console
displays -1 (grayed out) as the timeout value, under the two
radio buttons (No timeout, Set timeout).

However, when the Enable cookie link is clicked, the page
performs validation of the fields, and triggers the error
message that says "Session timeout: should be in the range 2
    through 2147483647".

    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *
    ****************************************************************
When the radio button "No timeout" is selected and saved, the
server.xml file for the server contains a -1 value for the
field invalidationTimeout. The console then displays -1 on the
    disabled "Set timeout" field.

However, when another action is performed on this panel,
such as the selection of the "Enable cookies" link, the page
performs validation of the fields, and triggers the error
message that says "Session timeout: should be in the range 2
    through 2147483647".

Problem conclusion

  • Code changes have been made to not trigger this error message
    when "No timeout" is selected.

The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in
fix pack 6.0.2.41. Please refer to the Recommended Updates
