Abstract

Username or password of empty string can be written to xmi file if no username or password is supplied and the JNDI name is not a valid 1X datasource.

PM31508 resolves the following problem:

ERROR DESCRIPTION:
When some EJBs are initialized, the defaultDatasource from the ibm-ejb-bnd.xml file fails with a
java.sql.SQLNonTransientException, "User ID length, 0, is not allowed." message.

The option of using wsadmin to correct the binding file is not feasible. Once the empty string is written out as userid and password in the binding file, it will always be written out as empty string by wsadmin. The only option right now is to change the binding file manually to correct the problem, which is not a
long-term solution.

PROBLEM SUMMARY

USERS AFFECTED:
All users of IBM WebSphere Application Server V7.0 managing applications with 1X
datasources using the Administrative Console.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Username or password of empty string can be written to xmi file if no username or password is supplied and the JNDI name is not a valid 1X datasource.
