Error description

  • When a RUN map uses Burst with the input data received from an
ECHOIN() function, incorrect data is passed to the subsequent
    bursts after the first burst.

If the HANDLEIN() function is used instead of the ECHOIN()
function, then the correct data is passed with each burst.

The problem occurred when using recent WTX 8.0.1.2(249) version
    patch modules.

The problem also occurs when using WTX 8.2.0.4 plus Interim Fix
    2.

The problem did not occur when using previous WTX versions such
    as 8.0.0 and 8.1.0.1.

The incorrect data passed during the testing appears to be the
correct number of bytes but the data is all NULL characters.

Local fix

  • WTXCQ - WTX00032677
    GM / GM
Circumvention: The problem can be avoided by the following:

    1) Use HANDLEIN() function instead of the ECHOIN() function in
    the RUN map call.

    2) Use Burst setting for the main map input instead of the RUN
    map input.

Problem summary

  • Users Affected:
Websphere Transformation Extender users calling RUN maps and
using burst option with ECHOIN or E cmd line overrides

    Problem Description:
When burst option is used for ECHO buffers, only first burst is
executed. If the burst fetch unit is not S, the map does not
    work correctly

    Platforms Affected:
    All

Problem conclusion

  • Fixed a problem in the environment WTX layer to handle burst
option for data passed in with ECHOIN function or Echo command
line override on input and output

    Delivered in:
    8.1.0.6, 8.2.0.5, 8.3.0.1
