DRF sets up a BPE environment in the SORT E15 exit on first
entry. In the case where SORT prematurely terminates, the BPE
environment is terminated, but due to a bad save area, a wild
branch leads to S0C1 or S0C4.

Problem conclusion

  • This fix bypasses the BPE call which abends on S0C1 or S0C4 when
SORT returns a non-zero return code.
