APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • When recovering a HIDAM index using the following parms, the
index was created with RECOVERY rather than SPEED for the VSAM
dataset. Theoriginal dataset should have been modeled and VSAM
parameters such as SPEED should not have been changed.
When FRXDDCC0 copies the contents of the catalog fields in a
data set entry within the CSI output area (such as VSAMREUS,
STORCLAS) to the specified DSIB, SPEED data, which is included
in a field called ATTR1 , was not included.

Problem summary

    * USERS AFFECTED: All users of DRF with SPEED defined in *
    * CLUSTER might be affected. *

    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The original dataset did not carry ovre *
    * VSAM parameter SPEED after DELETE and *
    * REDEFINE, and so the default RECOVERY *
    *                      took place.                             *

    * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF *
    ****************************************************************
The parameter SPEED was not selected from the characteristics in
its Data Set Information Block during the process of creating
    a single dataset for DELETE/DEFINE.

Problem conclusion

  • The modules of FRXDDCC0 and FRXDDCR0, the macro FRXOLRA have
been modified to add SPEED as an option to the CLUSTER during
    DELETE/REDEFINE dataset process.
