Error description

  • The DB2 Object Comparison Tool for z/OS' IGNORE feature did
not prevent a table being dropped and created when a difference
in the number of partitions was present and the GENERIC IGNORE
    PARTITIONING was used.
    This resulted in a message:
     Tables have identical column lists
     (D)Number of partitions reduced by 100 partition(s)
     Table aaa.aaa will be dropped
     Table will be recreated
Table data will not be converted

    ****************************************************************
DB2 Object Compare reported changes in table
partitioning which resulted in a DROP/CREATE of
the table. Modifications to column NOT NULL WITH
    DEFAULT constants were implemented with
    DROP/CREATE.

Problem conclusion

  • DB2 Object Compare is changed to correctly handle
this situation. Changes were also made to support
the smart alter of columns NOT NULL WITH
    DEFAULT constant.
