Abstract
Currently there is no way to configure the SIP Proxy to use a different address as the cluster address than that of what the SIP Proxy is listening on.
Download Description
PM05979 resolves the following problem:
ERROR DESCRIPTION:
In IBM WebSphere Application Server v7.0 (and subsequent v7.0 releases), The option of defining an SSL sprayer in the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Proxy settings was omitted.
LOCAL FIX:
In Application Server v7.0, we removed the IP sprayer settings from the admin console section of the SIP proxy settings as this information was considered a duplication of data from the channel chain settings. These same settings were used by customers who configured this for Network Address Translation (NAT).
PROBLEM SUMMARY
USERS AFFECTED:
All users of IBM WebSphere Application Server V7.0 Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) Proxy
PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:
Currently there is no way to configure the SIP Proxy to use a different address as the cluster address than that of what the SIP Proxy is listening on.
RECOMMENDATION:
None
In WebSphere Application Server V6.1, the SIP proxy had a section on the SIP Proxy Settings panel for entering IP Sprayer information used to send to the SIP containers so they knew what their cluster address is.
In WebSphere Application Server V7.0, these settings were removed with the understanding that these were duplicate settings from the channel chain settings of the SIP proxy.
The SIP proxy did not take into account that these two settings would be different and were used in Network Address Translation (NAT) environments.
PROBLEM CONCLUSION:
The SIP Proxy has added 6 new custom properties to add this functionality back. These custom properties are:
udp.IPSprayer.host |
udp.IPSprayer.port |
tcp.IPSprayer.host |
tcp.IPSprayer.port |
tls.IPSprayer.host |
tls.IPSprayer.port |
These properties are set under the "Proxy Servers-><proxy name>->SIP Proxy Settings" custom properties panel. If the "port" property is not set, it defaults to 5060 for TCP and UDP and 5061 for TLS. The "host" property must be set if administrator is to use these properties.
