Abstract

ASF V3 R4 Web client fixpack running on WebSphere Application Server 6.1 or 7.0 on Windows, AIX, and Linux

Download Description

This maintenance update package for feature Document Connect for ASF (aka DC4ASF) of program product IBM Application Support Facility (aka ASF) V3R4 contains all fixes made available since release of the predecessor update package 1.0.0.228.

The EAR file to be deployed, fsnservletEAR61.ear, is to be used for both WAS 6.1 and WAS 7.0.

Prerequisites

Upgrade your ASF V3 R4 host code to the most current maintenance level. The applicable PTF numbers can be found on the web site http://www.ibm.com/software/applications/office/asf/asfptfr4.html

At least make sure that PTF UK33194 has been installed.

Installation Instructions

1) Important notice:
If you have previously updated the DC4ASF configuration files listed below, save them before starting the installation of the fixpack with step 2 described below.
The installation process of the fixpack will install default versions of the configuration files.
After having finished the installation you can overwrite them with your backup copies.

2) Download the file "fsnservletEAR61.ear" to an (empty) directory of your choice.

3) Use the WebSphere Administrative Console to update your DC4ASF application.

4) List all installed applications and stop the DC4ASF application for update.
(Applications - Enterprise Applications)

5) Select the DC4ASF application and click the button "Update".

6) Click the radio button "Full application" and specify the path to the file "fsnservletEAR61.ear" (local or remote).

7) Press the button "Next" at the bottom and follow the instructions of the update wizard.

8) After the DC4ASF application has been updated successfully restore the DC4ASF configuration files saved in step 1 above:

9) Start the updated DC4ASF application.

10) Verify the correct maintenance level:
open the MS Internet Explorer and specify the URL-address leading to the "Document Connect for ASF" logon screen. The string "Version 1.0.0.475" indicates you have applied the most current maintenance level.
