    * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: This APAR fixes two problems: *
    *                                                              *
    * 1) A parser error can occur when the *
    * the users DDL contains bracketed *
    *                         SQL comments (e.g. /* comment */).   *
    * When the statement is a native SQL *
    * procedure the parser error reports *
    *                         that  a semi-colon is missing from   *
    * the CREATE PROCEDURE statement. *
    *                                                              *
    *                      2) A SUBSCRIPTRANGE condition occurs in *
    *                         the  ADD_SYMBOL_UNRESOLVED procedure *
    * when parsing a native SQL procedure *
    *                         that   contains  a   DECLARE  CURSOR *
    *                         statement  for  a  select  statement *
    *                         with a common-table-expression.      *
    *                                                              *
    *                         e.g. DECLARE C1 CURSOR FOR WITH      *
    *                         common-table-expression ...          *
    ****************************************************************
    * RECOMMENDATION: Apply The PTF. *
    ****************************************************************
    1) The parser does not correctly parse bracketed comments when
       there are an odd number of asterisks (*) before the end of
       the bracket. e.g. /*...<odd # of asterisks (*)>*/
       Where <odd # of asterisks (*)> represents an odd number of
       asterisks.

    2) The parser does not correctly process the DECLARE
       CURSOR statement for a select statement with a
       common-table-expression.

Problem conclusion

  • The problems have been fixed.
