Error description
Missing undefined context check for function argument
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: Users of the XML API for IBM WebSphere * * Application Server V8.0 * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: Undefined context may not be * * detected, leading to internal error * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** If the left hand side of a path expression consists of a function call that references the context item when the context is undefined, the processor may not detect the error and produce the correct error code, XPDY0002. For example, the expression "doc(/library/book[1]/url)/title" implicitly refers to the context via the parameter of a function call. If evaluated when the context is undefined, the processor will fail to raise the correct error which may result in an internal error when the processor tries to access the context item.
Problem conclusion
The behavior has been corrected such that the reference to an undefined context item will be detected. The fix for this APAR is currently targeted for inclusion in fix pack 8.0.0.1.
