Error description
Recorder trace, ICONRC, has the exit name in ASCII, but the actual IMS message in the IPB is in EBCDIC.
Local fix
Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All IMS V11 IMS Connect users * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: The IPB section of the IMS Connect * * ICONRC Recorder trace record displays * * input as EBCDIC even when the data is * * ASCII when sent from the client. * * * * Forward-fit of PM24536 * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF * **************************************************************** The IMS Connect Recorder trace section IPB of the ICONRC trace entry should display the data as received from the client and reflect what is passed to the user message exit READ routine. However, when the client sends the data in ASCII, the corresponding ICONRC recorder trace entry displays the data after it has been translated from ASCII to EBCDIC by the user message exit.
Problem conclusion
GEN: KEYWORDS: *** END IMS KEYWORDS *** Logic in part HWSSDRCV has been modified to log the IPB (input) portion of the ICONRC record prior to calling the user message exit. This change insures that the input data is captured in recorder buffer as is prior to any modification by the user message exit. Input that is sent as ASCII will appear as ASCII in the IPB section of the ICONRC recorder trace record.
