Failure to migrate XGS policies to the SiteProtector repository

Troubleshooting


Problem

You might find that you receive a "Cannot perform this operation on removed entity" error when attempting to migrate QRadar Network Security (XGS) policies to the policy repository in SiteProtector.

Symptom

After registering an XGS to SiteProtector with "Local settings override SiteProtector group settings" option enabled, if you try to migrate the policies into the policy repository it can fail with the following error:

Caused by: <openjpa-1.1.0-r422266:657916 nonfatal user error> org.apache.openjpa.persistence.ArgumentException: Cannot perform this operation on removed entity "net.iss.rssp.entity.policy.PolicyVersionImpl-7240".

Resolving The Problem

Use the following instructions to work around this issue:
  1. In the Agent view of the SiteProtector Console, locate the XGS sensor. Right-click the sensor and select Manage Policy.
  2. In the resulting Policy tab, select the XGS sensor in the left pane and click Action > Migrate to Repository.
  3. In the migration window that opens, click Select all to select all policies.
  4. Locate the Trusted Certificate Authorities policy and clear the box for the policy.
  5. Click OK to finish the migration process.
The Trusted Certificate Authorities policy is a dependent policy for the SSL Settings policy. As such, it is still migrated even though it's cleared, as long as the SSL Settings policy is also present.
