DB2 API backup fail with RC 927 after Client upgrade to 7.1.8 or 8.1.2 and higher

Problem

DB2 backup or db2adutl commands fail with Reason Code 927 after upgrading the IBM Spectrum Protect Client to 7.1.8 or 8.1.2.

Symptom

DB2 BACKUP or DB2ADUTL commands report the following:

Error: Initialize session failed with TSM return code 927
