Error description

• The DB2 Administration Tool for z/OS ALT command displays the
  contents of a VIO dataset which ends with the text;
  .
   <ADBALT                        Rc=            12
   ADBALT - Error(s) found. Please review output
  
  exiting the dataset results in panel ADB2CONF "Alter Tables -
  Exit Confirmation" and a message:
  Analysis ended with return code = 12.  Use TSO ISRDDN to check
  the file contents. The files remain allocated and should be
  be freed manually.
  No additional messages can be found.
  
  Customer was attempting an ALT to update a primary key of
  a table.

  *                      alters the column to an identity        *

  *                      be replaced, identity attributes        *
  *                      needed to be added new. Assuming that   *
  *                      it was already an identity column       *
  *                      resulted in a failure while trying      *
  *                      to replace identity attributes.         *

  * RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

  Using the ALT function, the data-type of a column is altered to
  an integer and also made the column an identity column.
  
  While the column attributes needed to be replaced, identity
  attributes needed to be added new. Assuming that it was
  already an identity column resulted in the failure below
  while trying to replace identity attributes:

  ADBC002E - Severe error. Merge terminates
  
  During ALT:
