PAM XPU date differences on QRadar Network Security

Question & Answer

Question

Why is the date for PAM XPUs for QRadar Network Security (XGS) different in the Local Management Interface (LMI) versus what the Download Center shows?

Answer

If you log in to the LMI and go to Manage System Settings > Updates and Licensing > Overview, the installed version and any available XPU updates are shown under X-Force Content.

If you log in to the IBM Security Download Center and review the Security Content Updates (PAM) available, the date that is shown likely differs from what the LMI shows.

This is due to where these dates are being populated. In the LMI, it is using the date that the XPU was added to the catalog file. This date is populated when the last release candidate build is created for internal testing (not when it was released).

In contrast, the Download Center's date indicates the day that the package was posted to the Download Center.

This behavior is expected and by design.
