Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All Distributed Data Facility (DDF) users. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ABEND=04E-00D3440D at DSNLIRTR+0CF4 * * and a subsequent DB2 04F subsystem * * abend. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: * **************************************************************** DB2 10 for z/OS was enhanced to provide detail statistics related to a location that was either a client to the subsystem or a server of the subsystem. To manage these statistics, a control block is acquired to hold the statistical values and its pointer is stored in the relevant location control block. Since multiple connections can be in existence to or from a location, the creation and visibility of the control block which holds the statistical values must be correctly synchronized to prevent the reported failure. The reported failure is an indication that the location control block of the current connection did not have a pointer to the statistics control block.
Problem conclusion
DB2 has been changed to ensure that a location control block is correctly setup with a pointer to its statistics control block prior to the location control block being made visible to all tasks in the subsystem.
