Error description

  • RCP client login fails after properly updating the properties
    for the user database.
    
    Changing the database login user's password and updating the
    user database properties causes the ClearQuest RCP client login
    to fail for that user db.
    The CQ for Windows client and CQWeb clients do not fail to login
    to that user db.
    After logging in to that user db via the CQ for Windows client
    on the same PC where the RCP client is used, the RCP client will
    then login without error.

    After a CQ Administrator changes a database property
    (username, password, database name etc...), the CQ Eclipse
    client can not connect to the database until the CQ Windows
    Client connects.
    

Problem conclusion

  • After analysis of this APAR we have determined we won't fix
    this issue due to: low priority/severity, the risk of a fix
    and a straightforward workaround (connect via the CQ Windows
    Client first). A priority decision has been made that this
    defect cannot be addressed in the next 18 months without
    neglecting issues of higher importance and less risk.  Thank
    you for your understanding.
