PM26791: VECTOR FACILITY INITIALIZATION INVALID

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• During initialization, APL2 tests for the presence of the
  vector facility by testing bits in the CVT and executing
  vector operation codes.  The CVT bits and vector operation
  codes are no longer valid on new hardware, and might be
  reused for other purposes some day. APl2 should not use these
  bits and operation codes.

  The APL2 initialization code tests for the vector facility
  by looking at bits in the CVT (MVS only) and executing
  vector opcodes.  Since vector facility hardware is no longer
  in use, the initialization tests should be removed.

  bypassed.
