Guardium 64-bit low disk space due to MySQL undo files

Troubleshooting


Problem

IBM Security Guardium units can enter a state where a significant fraction of the disk space on the /var partition is consumed by /../mysql/undo001 or similar files. This technote explains why this condition occurs, how to prevent it and how to recover from it.

Symptom

You might first notice this condition when running a health check before upgrading.

WARNING: DB is more than 50% full.

The condition is visible from CLI if you run "support show large"
