PM25941: DATA SET COMPRESS ERROR RECEIVED AND MSGIQC4053I INCREASE LRECL FOR UNLOAD DATASET

Obtain the fix for this APAR.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Using QCF TSO panels, "data set compress error" received.
  Also, error message "IQC4053I Increase LRECL for UNLOAD
  dataset" received. This message shows only for the second and
  following unload functions in the same jobstep. After the
  first UNLOAD, the data set is closed and the LRECL is set to 0.

  *                      does not permit update actions.         *

  *                      single run. This is because the adress  *
  *                      of the output DCB is reset before each  *
  *                      function and the check for LRECL is     *
  *                      done for DCB address, pointing to  0.   *

  * RECOMMENDATION: The allocation disposition in REXX exec      *
  *                 for the data set with overflow               *
  *                 protection members is set to OLD, which      *
  *                 permits update/compress actions.             *

  *                 The adress of the output DCB is set          *
  *                 to UNLOAD DCB before each start of           *
  *                 function unload.                             *
