Error description
A display of IMS MPRs shows some of them with a status of WAIT-CMD/PENDING but that status is invalid. They are not waiting for a command to process. Flag PSTCMDPD is not being reset properly.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All IMS V11 users with MPPs * * (Message Processing Program) * * and issuing /DIS ACTIVE command. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: A /DIS ACTIVE command shows some MPP * * regions with a status of * * 'WAIT-CMD/PENDING', but the regions are * * no longer waiting for a command to be * * completed. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF * **************************************************************** Two transactions were initiated for some MPPs but the transactions did not get scheduled and a /DIS Q TRAN showed two message queue counts. A /DIS ACTIVE command output showed the MPPs were in 'WAIT-CMD/PENDING' status and the regions are waiting on SUBQ 4. The status was not valid because there were no commands in progress at that point. This status is the result of the command pending flag (PSTCMDPD) being set during start up of those MPPs because a /DBR or /DBD command was in progress. Once this flag is set, it is not reset until the next schedule of the MPPs. Until the flag is reset, the /DIS ACTIVE command will continue to show the WAIT-CMD/PENDING status. Additional Keyword: CMDDIS CMDDBD CMDDBR
Problem conclusion
A doc change will be made in IMS V11 Command Reference (SC19243000) for the /DISPLAY ACTIVE command under the WAIT-CMD/PENDING status. Add the following: - The status of the MPP region will continue to show WAIT-CMD/PENDING until the command has completed and the region has been re-scheduled. To clear a WAIT-CMD/PENDING status without re-scheduling the MPP region, issue a /STA DB command against one of the databases in the intent list for the PSB used by the MPP region that failed to initially schedule. Issuing this command will drain SUBQ 4 and post all PSTs there including any suspended MPP regions.
