MDN processing for new AS2 trading partner fails with error

Troubleshooting


Problem

Started sending data to a new AS2 trading partner. When data is sent to the trading partner, it is received with no issue and the trading partner sends back an MDN. When the MDN is received, it fails processing with an error.

Symptom

The XML report for the business process shows
"<ADVANCED>Message <message ID> failed with error</ADVANCED>
<TRANSACTION_DETAIL>Message <messageID> failed with error"

The AS2SendSyncMDN business process shows an error of ""Message failed with error" in the Advanced Status Column of a step for System Invoke Business Process Service and the Status Report for that step shows "Message <message ID > failed with error". The business process being invoked was an onFault business process.

The EDIINTAck step of AS2SendAndProcessSyncMDN in the XML report shows transaction status as "pending" and Acknowledged as "false".
