Error description
OTMA C/I client received ABEND401 RC14 ( Reg15 = x'00000014' ). Reason code 14 says that 'a caller who was not processingin task mode issued a WAIT macro with the LINKAGE=SYSTEM option.'. The dump list title shows 'IMS OTMA CI XCF EXIT ROUTINE DUMP' and the failing module points to IEAVEWAT.The OTMA C?I remains active after the svc dump was taken. Analysis indicated that we issued a WAIT in DFSYOMSG subroutine RESPONSE. We received the NAK before the DFS message and waiting for LIC ( last in chain ). Since this is an XCF processing in SRB mode, it seems that WAIT was allowed. The LINKAGE parm should probably be SVC instead of SYSTEM. Perhaps it would be better to call POSTPONE macro here to savethe message in XCF so it can be processed later.

Problem summary
**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: All IMS V11 OTMA Callable Interface Users * * with PM04123/UK53624. * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: ABEND401 RC14 in DFSYOMSG after WAIT * * issued due to invalid linkage. * * * * Forward Fit of PM20125. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: INSTALL CORRECTIVE SERVICE FOR APAR/PTF * **************************************************************** PM04123/UK53624 added code in DFSYOMSG Response subroutine to handle a NAK response with a multi-segment DFS message sent by DFSYTIB0 when rejecting input. The code included a WAIT macro with LINKAGE(SYSTEM), which was invalid, resulting in ABEND401 RC14. Further review of all the possible DFS messages sent by DFSYTIB0 when rejecting input showed that none of the DFS messages are multi-segment. The majority are keyed DFS messages, which by definition, are all single segment. The few non-keyed DFS messages are also single segment. Therefore, the code added by PM04123/UK53624 was unnecessary and will be removed.
Problem conclusion
GEN: KEYWORDS: *** END IMS KEYWORDS *** DFSYOMSG was modified to remove the unnecessary code.
