APAR status

  • Closed as program error.

Error description

  • Customer DFSYDRU0 exit was called due to ALTPCB CHNG call from
OTMA-originated transaction. The exit rejected the destination
name as invalid with RC=12. This ultimately resulted in CHNG
call receiving status 'AX'. To be consistent with other
processing where a destination name is invalid, IMS should
return 'A1' in this case and not 'AX'. 'AX' is reserved for
'error' cases, not simple rejection of destination name

    ****************************************************************
An application issues an ALTPCB CHNG call from an OTMA orginated
transaction. As a result of this, the OTMA Destination
Resolution Exit, DFSYDRU0, gets control. The exit rejected the
destination name as invalid by returning with RC=12. This
resulted in the CHNG call being rejected with an AX status.

For an invalid destination, AX status is not the correct status.
A1 status should have been issued.

Problem conclusion

  • GEN:
    KEYWORDS:

    *** END IMS KEYWORDS ***
DFSYFND0 has been modified to ensure that status A1
is returned when an invalid destination has been detected
    by DFSYDRU0.
