Error description

  • When a backslash is specified in the TRACEFILE parameter in
    the configuration file memory mapped wrapping trace does
    not start. An example of an invalid parameter is:
    TRACEFILE=C:\CICSCLI.BIN

    On start, the Client daemon will produce the following log
    message:

     CCL1205E Invalid system return code
      (Function = 'OpenFileMapping', Error Code = '3')

Local fix

  • To work around this problem use forward slashes:
    TRACEFILE=C:/CICSCLI.BIN

    Attempting to start a memory-mapped, wrapping trace with a
    backslash character in the file name fails. The trace file is
    not produced and the following message is written to the Client
    daemon log file:
      1176 TRC:CCL1205E Invalid system return code (Function =
    'OpenFileMapping', Error Code = '3')

Problem conclusion

  • The Client daemon has been modified to allow a backslash
    characters in the tracefile path.
