Error description

• Abstract:
  
  Attempts to importing an EAR file and then closing/reopening the
  workspace might result in the EAR project no longer being
  recognized.
  
  Problem:
  
  When you import an EAR file that was originally exported with
  metadata from Rational Application Developer v6.0.x in to a
  v7.5.x workspace, you are able to publish it to the server;
  however, after you close the workspace and reopen the workspace,
  the EAR project is no longer recognized as being valid in the
  workspace.  When you attempt to publish it to the server, you
  get the following informational message:
  
  'There are no projects that can be added or removed from the
  server.'
  
  Local fix:
  
  You can import just the WAR file in to a workspace and then
  chose to add the corresponding Web project to a new EAR project
  that will created during the import.

Problem conclusion

• This problem is a permanent limitation of the 7.5 release of
  Rational Application Developer.  If a fix is required for
  the 7.5 release then please contact IBM Rational Application
  Developer support and request a test fix.
  
  The fix for this APAR is included in Rational Application
  Developer v8.0.
