Content

(I) Switching from the production site to disaster recovery mode

Note: Ensure that you have completed the ISPIM DR setup. See Setting up IBM Security Privileged Identity Manager Disaster Recovery environment.

  1. If there are no data replication in place between the production site and the DR, database and directory server, perform a manual data backup and restore from the production data tier to the DR data tier environment.
  2. Update the DNS entry of the load balancer with the DR load balancer's virtual IP address.
  3. Boot the ISPIM virtual appliance (replicated primary node) in the DR environment.

(II) Switching from the disaster recovery mode to the production site
  1. Replicate the data from DR data tier back to the respective production databases and LDAP directory servers.
  2. Update the DNS entry of the load balancer with the production load balancer's virtual IP address.
  3. Boot the ISPIM virtual appliance(s) in the production environment.
Note: These are the original set of virtual appliance that resides on the production site. There is no need to replicate the DR PIM VA back to the production site for "fail back".
