QRadar: Releases that support REST APIs

Question & Answer

Question

What QRadar software releases support REST APIs?

Answer

Any QRadar Console that is installed with QRadar 7.2.1 or above can use features in the REST API.

New features are added to the QRadar REST API during core software updates, such as QRadar 7.2.1, 7.2.2, or QRadar 7.3.0. API updates are only done during major releases that contain features. Fix Packs or patches might contain fixes to the code base for reported API issues, but will not contain new features.

As we develop and add features to the QRadar REST API, your QRadar version might not be able to leverage a new feature without a software upgrade. The QRadar Support newsletter and the QRadar forums (http://ibm.biz/qradarforums) are used to inform customers when APIs are being deprecated from the product in individual API versions to ensure that lead time is provided for users to update their code base and API calls.
