ELM repotools command generateURLMappings or verifyURLMappings command fails with CRJAZ0099E error

Troubleshooting


Problem

Attempts to run repotools-jts.bat -generateURLMappings or repotools-jts -verifyURLMappings in IBM Engineering Lifecycle Managment (ELM) result in error CRJAZ0099E.

Symptom

You receive the errors similar to the following in the repotools-jtsgenerateURLMappings.log file:


2016-12-13 07:30:30,912 CRJAZ2233I The server at https://jtsserver:9443/jts/urlMappingInformation is being contacted to collect URL information.
2016-12-13 07:35:30,932 CRJAZ0099E An HTTP error occurred when this URL was being accessed: /jts/urlMappingInformation. Error details: java.net.SocketTimeoutException.
com.ibm.team.repository.common.transport.TeamServiceException: CRJAZ0099E An HTTP error occurred when this URL was being accessed: /jts/urlMappingInformation. Error details: java.net.SocketTimeoutException.

2016-12-13 08:32:06,637 CRJAZ2942E A request from this server to another server could not be completed. The other server returned a 500 HTTP error with this error text: Internal Server Error.
com.ibm.team.repository.common.transport.TeamServiceException: CRJAZ2942E A request from this server to another server could not be completed. The other server returned a 500 HTTP error with this error text: Internal Server Error.

In repotools-jts_verifyURLMappings.log, you see

2023-03-14T12:19:58,592+0100 CRJAZ0099E An HTTP error occurred when this URL was being accessed: /jts/urlMappingInformation. Error details: java.net.SocketTimeoutException.

com.ibm.team.repository.common.transport.TeamServiceException: CRJAZ0099E An HTTP error occurred when this URL was being accessed: /jts/urlMappingInformation. Error details: java.net.SocketTimeoutException.

Caused by: java.net.SocketTimeoutException

You see the error message 5 minutes starting repotools-jts.[bat|sh] command.
