HD Pointer Checker (HDPC) causes ABEND U0384-22 in the DRF recovery sort subordinate address space (RSS) of DRF jobs under the following conditions: - The M side HALDB DBDS is active and DRF recovers to A side DBDS, or the A side HALDB DBDS is active and DRF recovers to M side DBDS. - HDPC is run in DRF jobs.

**************************************************************** * USERS AFFECTED: IBM IMS High Performance Pointer Checker for * * z/OS Version 3 Release 1 (FMID=HPC2310) * * users who run HD Pointer Checker (HDPC). * **************************************************************** * PROBLEM DESCRIPTION: By this APAR, the following two * * problems are fixed: * * * * (1) ABENDU0384-22 occurs in IMS * * Database Recovery Facility (DRF) jobs * * when DRF recovers HALDB to inactive * * side DBDSs. * * * * (2) MSGFABP1084E or MSGFABP0530E is * * issued erroneously when HDPC with * * HASH=NO processes image copy data sets * * of inactive side HALDB DBDSs. * **************************************************************** * RECOMMENDATION: Apply the maintenance for this APAR. * **************************************************************** This APAR fixes the following two problems: (1) HDPC causes ABENDU0388-22 in the recovery sort subordinate address space (RSS) of DRF jobs when the M side HALDB DBDS is active and DRF recovers to the A side DBDS, or when the A side HALDB DBDS is active and DRF recovers to the M side DBDS. (2) HDPC erroneously issues MSGFABP1084E or MSGFABP0530E when HDPC runs with the Standard Check function (HASH=NO) and processes image copy data sets of HALDB DBDSs which are the inactive side.
Problem conclusion
The FABPADBS and FABPALLC modules are modified to fix the errors.
