FAQs

  • How do I sign up?
Details are available at the bottom of this page. We'll contact you and get you started as soon as possible.
  • What do I have to sign?
A single Supplement to an existing NDA that you may already have with IBM. If you don't have an NDA with us, don't worry. We'll work with you to set one up.
  • How long am I signed up for?
The zDF Agreement lasts for 3 years, after which you can sign up again.
  • Can I take part in other IBM programs if I sign this single agreement?
Quite likely. Many Design and Architecture Forums in our product areas, such as CICS, are starting to use the single zDF Agreement. Tell us what you're interested in and we'll let you know.
  • Which IBM products are taking part in the zDF?
Many enterprise-level products are already on-board. See the list above, for the latest list of participating products.
  • How many people are already participating in the zDF?
A lot! The zDF is proving very popular with both our clients and business partners alike. For example, we have 100+ participants currently enrolled.
  • I'm an IBM business partner, can I join the zDF?
Yes, the zDF welcomes IBM business partners, who are enrolled into a zDF especially for them.
  • I'm an affiliate of a participant in the zDF, can I join?
Yes, if your parent company has already signed up to the zDF, then you're eligible too.
  • I'm signed up under NDA with a different part of IBM, than the product area I'm interested in. Do I need to sign up again with that part of IBM?
No. The zDF Supplement allows for affiliates from across IBM. We'll set up the Supplement accordingly, to cope with all affiliates.
  • What will IBM disclose to me as part of the zDF?
The zDF is designed as a managed 'deep dive' program, such that IBM will disclose product design and future directions details, and encourage you to feedback into those processes.
  • What will I have to disclose as part of the zDF?
IBM expects that you will feedback how you use our products, including those in development in IBM that we share as part of the zDF. We will NOT ask you to disclose any of your confidential information. Any feedback we do receive will be treated as confidential and we would be free to incorporate it into our future products.
  • My company has already signed the Sponsored User Agreement with IBM, can I use that instead?
No, not for Design Forum 'deep dive' discussions. The SUA is not designed for the technical discussions and interactions that take place regularly as part of the zDF. If your intention is to engage with IBM product teams at a technical level, then you will need to sign the zDF Agreement. The SUA offers only a subset of the terms and IP protections for both you and IBM, as provided by the zDF Agreement.
