PM69703: images pasted from clipboard show as blank icon in Windows 7

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• On DOORS 9.4 and Windows 7
  copy and paste an image from the clipboard into the object text.
  The image displays, but can not be activated. Attempts to
  activate the object result in DOORSS message 'This OLE object is
  a static metafile and can not be activated.'
  
  Open the same module from a Windows XP machine, the OLE displays
  correctl, but can not be activated.  Attempts to activate the
  object result in DOORSS message
  'This OLE object is a static metafile and can not be
  activeated.'

  This behavior was introduced in 9.3.0.6 to address DOORS
  client crash while rendering corrupted DIBs. That time we
  didn't had sufficient data to narrow down reason hence
  iconified all the static DIBs under Windows 7.
  

Problem conclusion

• This issue has been resolved. Only corrupted DIBs (having an
  incorrect bitmap header which cannot be rendered under
  Windows 7) will be displayed as an icon. Otherwise, all the
  valid DIBs will be rendered same as Windows XP.
